Business
Armstrong World Industries, Inc. (AWI) manufactures and sells commercial and residential ceiling, wall, and suspension systems worldwide. The company offers a broad portfolio of products including suspended mineral fiber and soft fiber acoustic ceiling tiles; fiberglass-reinforced mineral fiber panels; wood, metal, and fiberglass panels; suspension systems; ceiling suspension grids; specialty ceilings; and office furniture; as well as wall solutions such as panels, trims, and moldings. It also provides cloud-based design software, technical services, and project management services through its Armstrong Ceiling Solutions division. Founded in 1860 and headquartered in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Armstrong World Industries operates primarily in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific, serving commercial building owners, contractors, distributors, and end-users in the construction and interiors industry. In recent developments, the company completed the spin-off of its Architectural Specialties business into Worth & Company in late 2023, allowing Armstrong to focus on its core ceilings and walls segment. It announced expansions in manufacturing capacity and sustainability initiatives, including increased production of low-carbon products, amid ongoing market recovery in commercial construction as of 2025. No major acquisitions, partnerships, or name changes have been reported in the last 1-2 years.
