AXIS Capital Holdings Limited serves as a prominent global provider of specialized insurance and reinsurance offerings through its operating companies. Established in 2001 and based in Pembroke, Bermuda, the company extends its solutions to clients internationally across key markets including the United States, Europe, Canada, and Singapore. The firm’s operations are organized into two distinct areas: its Insurance division and its Reinsurance division. The Insurance segment delivers a comprehensive suite of specialty covers. This includes property coverage for commercial structures, residential complexes, various construction undertakings, land-based energy facilities, and in-transit goods, alongside protection against terrorism-related physical damage and business interruption. It also provides marine and aviation policies, encompassing offshore energy, cargo, liability (such as kidnap and ransom), fine art, specie, and hull war, as well as hull and liability for commercial airlines, cargo operators, general aviation, airports, and related service providers. Furthermore, this division offers professional liability solutions for directors and officers, errors and omissions, employment practices, fiduciary responsibilities, crime, professional indemnity, medical malpractice, and cyber and privacy risks, catering to commercial entities, financial institutions, and non-profit organizations. Complementing these, it provides accidental death, travel, specialty health, and pet insurance products for employer and affinity groups. The Reinsurance segment offers vital risk transfer capacity to insurance carriers worldwide. Its offerings span catastrophe reinsurance, property reinsurance against natural and man-made disasters, professional lines, credit and surety, and motor liability. This segment additionally provides agriculture reinsurance, coverage for diverse construction risks, and marine and aviation reinsurance. It also extends personal accident, specialty health, accidental death, travel, life, and disability reinsurance solutions. AXIS Capital maintains a focus on disciplined underwriting and leverages advanced analytics, including AI-driven solutions, to address complex and niche risks, aiming to drive sustainable profitability and deliver value to its clients and shareholders. The company reported strong financial results for the third quarter of 2025, surpassing analyst expectations for earnings per share and revenue. Recently, in November 2025, AXIS Capital executed a share repurchase agreement totaling approximately $238 million. Vincent Tizzio assumed the role of President and CEO in May 2023.
