The company offers essential products and services across its segments, including residential mortgage insurance and servicing, dealer software and technology solutions such as those from CDK Global, healthcare services, non-bank financial services, lottery and gaming operations from Scientific Games, offshore oil services, modular building leasing, work access solutions, advanced energy storage from Clarios, engineered components manufacturing from DexKo Global, nuclear technology services from Westinghouse Electric Company, water and wastewater treatment from BRK Ambiental, and electric heat tracing systems; it serves global corporations, financial institutions, governments, utilities, energy and automotive sectors, with over 72,000 employees and operations spanning the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, Canada, Brazil, and other regions. Founded in 2016 through a spin-off from Brookfield Asset Management and headquartered at 73 Front Street, 5th Floor, Hamilton HM 12, Bermuda, the partnership generated $1.4 billion in funds from operations in the first nine months of 2024 while deploying another $1.4 billion into new ventures. Recent developments include agreements in 2025 to sell partial interests in three businesses for approximately $690 million in units of a new Brookfield evergreen private equity fund targeting high-net-worth investors, investments of $300 million to acquire two market-leading businesses including an electric heat tracing systems manufacturer in January 2025, a July 2025 partnership to privatize Canada's First National Financial Corporation for $2.7 billion with BBU taking an 11% stake for $145 million equity, and ongoing repurchases of 2.2 million common equity units at accretive levels during the second quarter of 2025.
