Hun Yenilenebilir Enerji Uretim AS is an independent renewable power producer and utility company that develops, constructs, finances, owns, and operates clean energy generation facilities. Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey, the company originally operated under the name H26 Solar Enerji Uretim Sanayi ve Ticaret AS before rebranding to reflect its multi-source renewable asset base. The company operates across multiple renewable utility segments, offering electricity generation and clean energy asset management through a diversified portfolio comprising: solar photovoltaic electricity generation, operating utility-scale and distributed solar power plants across multiple Turkish provinces with an aggregate capacity exceeding 66 MWp; hydroelectric power generation, operating run-of-river hydroelectric facilities with an installed capacity of approximately 26.1 MWp; biomass energy generation, operating agricultural and organic waste-to-energy power plants with an installed capacity of approximately 10.5 MWp; battery energy storage systems, developing standalone and co-located storage infrastructure; and end-to-end power project development services, encompassing site prospecting, EPC management, regulatory licensing, grid interconnection engineering, facility operations and maintenance, and wholesale electricity trading through state-guaranteed feed-in tariff mechanisms (YEKDEM) and bilateral commercial power purchase agreements.
In recent strategic developments, Hun Yenilenebilir Enerji Uretim AS has expanded its geographic reach and technological scope by pursuing cross-border renewable investments in Southern Europe. Through its wholly owned Italian subsidiary Aquila S.r.l., the company completed the acquisition of a 92% equity stake in Italian energy developer Bess Castelluccio S.r.l., obtaining the rights to a 200 MW battery energy storage system (BESS) project backed by grid capacity connection approvals from Italian transmission system operator Terna S.p.A., alongside advancing an 18.5 MW solar photovoltaic development in the Puglia region. In parallel, the company initiated acquisition negotiations for operational and development-stage solar photovoltaic assets in Greece to strengthen its European presence. In its domestic Turkish market, the company submitted pre-license applications for 15 storage-integrated solar generation projects representing approximately 900 MW of combined capacity under the Energy Market Regulatory Authority framework, while actively deploying hybrid generation integrations to maximize power output across its operational plant fleet.
