Business
Kocaer Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS is a Turkey-based manufacturer and distributor of steel profile products and structural steel solutions. Founded in 1984 and headquartered in Izmir, Turkey, the company operates within the iron and steel manufacturing industry, catering to diverse global sectors including construction, solar energy, power transmission, infrastructure, mining, machinery manufacturing, transportation, agriculture, and shipbuilding. The company distributes its products domestically and exports to more than 140 countries across Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. The company designs, manufactures, and markets an extensive portfolio of hot-rolled structural and commercial steel profiles alongside specialized engineered sections. Its primary product and service offerings comprise hot-rolled steel angles, including equal and unequal leg angle bars; standard structural steel beams and columns, encompassing IPE, IPN, HEA, HEB, HEM, UB, UC, and American Wide Flange W-sections; structural steel channels, including UPN, UPE, and PFC profiles; flat bars, square bars, round solid bars, and T-sections; specialized mining and tunneling profiles, such as TH and GI section support arches; steel sheet piling sections; custom-engineered asymmetric and special cross-section profiles produced to client specifications; and solar mounting structures, including cold-formed and roll-formed galvanized steel profiles, torque tubes, purlins, and ground-mount tracker systems. Through its integrated steel service centers, the company provides value-added metal processing services, including precision cut-to-length; multi-axis CNC drilling and sawing; robotic punching and marking; shot blasting and surface preparation; automatic primer painting; hot-dip galvanizing; welding; and custom sub-assembly fabrication. Kocaer Celik operates three steel rolling mills, a specialized steel service center, and a hot-dip galvanizing facility situated in Aliaga, Izmir, maintaining an aggregate annual steel profile manufacturing capacity of approximately 800,000 metric tons. The company manages international sales and distribution networks through foreign subsidiaries, including Kocaer Steel UK Ltd in the United Kingdom, alongside commercial operations and distribution channels serving the North American market. In recent developments, Kocaer Celik has executed significant strategic expansions focused on high-value-added product lines, green energy transition, and operational modernization. The company completed technical upgrades across its Aliaga rolling mills to increase the share of high-margin, specialized structural profiles tailored for renewable energy, defense, and industrial infrastructure applications. To advance its decarbonization strategy and achieve self-sufficiency in electricity consumption, the company deployed extensive rooftop and ground-mounted solar photovoltaic installations across its manufacturing sites. Furthermore, through its subsidiary Kocaer Enerji, the company diversified into geothermal power generation by acquiring exploration and exploitation licenses in the Aydin region of western Turkey, advancing drilling programs and power plant development to generate renewable baseload electricity. In addition, the company expanded its global supply footprint in solar structural systems through major commercial supply agreements across Europe and the Americas, while securing verified Environmental Product Declarations across its primary product categories to support low-carbon steel procurement.
