- Plastikkart Akilli Kart Iletisim Sistemleri Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. is a Turkey-based digital security and smart card manufacturing company that designs, produces, personalizes, and distributes secure card systems and related technology solutions. Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey, the company operates a specialized, high-security 9,000-square-meter production facility in Silivri and is majority-owned by Gemalto B.V., a subsidiary of Thales Group.
The company operates across the digital identity, telecommunications, financial technology, and secure transactions sectors. Its core product and service portfolio includes payment and banking cards; contact, contactless, and dual-interface EMV-compliant debit, credit, and prepaid cards certified by Visa and Mastercard; telecommunications subscriber identity module (SIM) cards and USIM cards; government and national identity credentials, including electronic identity cards, e-government access cards, driver licenses, and digital authentication badges; public transit and contactless fare collection cards; Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) security cards, smart card readers, and cryptographic authentication tokens; utility metering cards; and commercial loyalty and private-label gift cards. In addition to physical card manufacturing, Plastikkart provides comprehensive card lifecycle management and technical services; including secure chip embedding and card body milling; micro-printing and high-security offset printing; card personalization and magnetic stripe/chip encoding; PIN generation, packaging, and secure direct-to-consumer or branch fulfillment; cryptographic key management and secure data processing; server hosting and database storage services; and smart card architecture consulting and technical training.
Plastikkart serves a diverse client base comprising commercial and retail banks, payment service providers, mobile network operators, government agencies, municipal transit authorities, utility providers, and corporate enterprises across Turkey and select export markets in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
In recent corporate developments, Plastikkart has advanced significant capital and operational restructuring initiatives. In 2026, the company approved a 1,218.68% bonus share capital increase to expand its paid-in capital from TRY 22.75 million to TRY 300.00 million through internal equity resources, subsequently filing for issuance approval with the Capital Markets Board of Turkey (SPK). To optimize its balance sheet and strengthen its financial structure, the company resolved to offset accumulated prior-year losses utilizing positive differences from inflation-adjusted capital equity reserves. Additionally, Plastikkart appointed BDO Denet as its independent auditing firm and continues to modernize its Silivri manufacturing and personalization infrastructure to align with next-generation digital identity solutions and security standards under the technological framework of Thales Group.
