Banco Popular de Puerto Rico (BPPR), the largest bank in Puerto Rico by assets and deposits, delivers these services via an extensive branch and ATM network across Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, complemented by mortgage banking operations nationwide; Popular Bank, the U.S. subsidiary chartered in New York, serves retail, private banking, commercial lending, mortgage services, association lending, healthcare financing, and middle market banking clients through branches in New York, New Jersey, and Florida, with 24/7 digital banking and access to over 55,000 ATMs via the Allpoint network. Founded in 1893 and headquartered at 209 Muñoz Rivera Avenue in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico, the company ranks among the top 50 U.S. bank holding companies by total assets and employs approximately 9,200 people. Recent capital actions include an increase in the quarterly common stock dividend from $0.70 to $0.75 per share effective with the Q4 2025 payout, subject to board approval, alongside a new $500 million common stock repurchase program announced in July 2025, supplementing the prior $500 million 2024 program with $32.8 million remaining as of mid-July 2025; strong loan growth persisted into Q2 2025, with $931 million added across portfolios, driven by $681 million at BPPR in commercial and construction lending—including a $265 million toll roads financing retention—and $251 million at Popular U.S. in similar categories.
