Black Rose Industries Limited engages in the import, distribution, export, and manufacturing of specialty and performance chemicals from its headquarters in Mumbai, India, where it was founded in 1990 as Asia Fab Limited. The company operates a chemicals distribution division serving industries including rubber and tire, dyestuffs, PET manufacturing, optical brighteners, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, perfumeries, and polymers with a wide range of imported and exported specialty chemicals; a manufacturing division that runs India's first acrylamide production plant (liquid and powder forms under the BRILMIDE brand), a polyacrylamide plant for the ceramics industry, and N-Methylol Acrylamide (NMA); and a textiles division producing fabrics and made-ups for industrial applications. It maintains a wholly owned subsidiary, B.R. Chemicals Co., Ltd., in Japan, and conducts operations primarily in India with international exports and sourcing. Recent developments include expansion of its acrylamide liquid manufacturing capacity from 14,000 MTPA to 20,000 MTPA with a Rs 421 lakhs investment to support merchant sales and captive polyacrylamide production; a joint feasibility study with Koei Chemical Co., Ltd. of Tokyo for potential collaboration; establishment of a new R&D facility; ongoing R&D in polyacrylamide solids and collaboration with a Japanese firm; and achievement of record turnover growth of approximately 21% year-over-year.
