Business
Doms Industries Limited (DOMS.NS) manufactures and markets a wide range of art materials, school stationery, and writing instruments, including pencils under the DOMS, Nataraj, and Yazpi brands; color pencils, crayons, oil pastels, and watercolor pencils; sketch pens, markers, and gel pens; erasers, sharpeners, and glues; geometry boxes, mathematical instruments, and drawing tools; as well as hobby products like modeling clay, glitter pens, and activity kits; and infant products such as feeding bottles, sippers, and toys. The company operates primarily in the consumer stationery and art supplies segment, targeting school children, students, artists, and hobbyists across India and exports to over 40 countries in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. Founded in 1973 and headquartered in Mumbai, India, Doms Industries maintains manufacturing facilities in Gujarat and distributes through a network of wholesalers, retailers, and e-commerce platforms. In recent developments, Doms Industries completed its initial public offering (IPO) in December 2023, raising approximately INR 1,760 crore to fund capacity expansion, brand building, and working capital needs. The company acquired a 55% stake in the Italian art materials firm Moleskine in 2023 through its subsidiary, establishing a strategic foothold in the premium global stationery market and enabling technology transfers for new product innovations. Additionally, Doms launched new product lines including eco-friendly pencils and digital-compatible art tools in 2024-2025, alongside expanding production capacity at its Ahemdabad plant by 30% to meet rising domestic and export demand.
