A subsidiary of Reliance Industries Ltd with 71.95% ownership since 2019, the company founded in 1959 and headquartered in Mumbai, India, operates through wholly owned Hathway Digital Private Ltd as one of India's largest multisystem operators (MSOs), serving over 7.2 million digital cable households and 430,000 broadband subscribers in more than 350 cities with a pan-India ISP license and extensive HFC and fiber network spanning thousands of kilometers. Recent developments include the November 2024 completion of a 100% acquisition of subsidiary Hathway Cable MCN Nanded Pvt Ltd by purchasing the remaining 61.15% stake for Rs 11; FY2025 launches of next-generation HEVC HD boxes, OTT hybrid boxes, and industry-first dual-band ONUs; sale of stakes in certain subsidiaries and associates to Infomedia and Networking Private Ltd; and ongoing network expansions adding IP links and fiber infrastructure.
