Business
SAL Automotive Ltd (BSE: SALAUTO.BO), established in 1974 and headquartered in Mohali, Punjab, India, manufactures and supplies automotive components and agricultural implements primarily to the Indian automotive industry; its core products include tractor seats, light commercial vehicle (LCV) seats, seat frames and mechanisms for passenger cars and commercial vehicles, rotavators, tractor trailers, box scrapers, rotary tillers, and planters. The company operates through two main segments, automobile components and agriculture implements, with production facilities spanning approximately 1.1 million square feet and supported by dedicated technical and managerial staff. Formerly known as Swaraj Automotives Limited until its name change in July 2019 and originally Punjab Scooters Limited, it is a subsidiary of b4s Solutions Pvt. Limited and diversified from scooters to seats in 1986, seat mechanisms via a technological tie-up with Japan's Fuji Kiko in 1994, and agricultural implements in 2014. In recent years, SAL Automotive achieved its highest-ever sales volume in financial year 2023-24 with a 19% revenue growth in the automotive segment despite a 6% decline in agriculture, alongside a 9.53% jump in profit before tax margins; the company continues to report strong operational performance, including unaudited financial results for quarters ended December 2024 and board approvals for ongoing strategic filings as of early 2025.
