Electro-Alfa International SA is a Romania-based industrial manufacturer and engineering contractor specializing in electrical power distribution equipment, turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solutions, and energy infrastructure services. Founded in 1991 and headquartered in Botoșani, Romania, the company operates across specialized manufacturing and engineering divisions serving public utilities, renewable energy developers, industrial facilities, civil infrastructure operators, and commercial clients throughout Romania as well as export markets across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The company manufactures and provides a comprehensive portfolio of power distribution, automation, and infrastructure solutions, including medium-voltage equipment, such as primary and secondary distribution switchgear, modular SF6-free switchboards under the ALFA UNIGRID and ALFA ECOGRID brands, disconnectors, and compact concrete-enclosed transformer substations; low-voltage equipment, such as main power distribution switchboards, power centers, motor control centers (MCC), power factor correction cubicles, automation and protection panels, and AC/DC auxiliary service cabinets; prefabricated enclosure systems, such as custom sheet metal components, metallic electrical shelters, and mobile E-House containerized substations; and distribution transformers, comprising oil-immersed medium-voltage units ranging from 50 kVA to 1,000 kVA. Through its EPC and technical service divisions, Electro-Alfa International SA delivers end-to-end engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning for electrical networks and transformer substations up to 110 kV; balance-of-plant electrical infrastructure and grid connections for utility-scale photovoltaic and wind energy assets; specialized industrial automation and telemetry integration; proprietary energy management and software engineering solutions; and comprehensive lifecycle services, including testing, on-site diagnostics, modernization, and preventative maintenance. In recent developments, Electro-Alfa International SA completed its initial public offering on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB: EAI) in February 2026, raising approximately RON 579 million, and commenced trading on the BVB Regulated Market in March 2026, subsequently earning inclusion in the benchmark BET index in September 2026. Expanding its manufacturing footprint, the company partnered with Germany-based SGB-SMIT Group to establish the SGB-ALFA joint venture, inaugurating a EUR 20 million transformer production plant in Botoșani in 2026. Furthermore, Electro-Alfa International SA completed the strategic acquisition of electrical installation contractor Elcomex in September 2026, strengthening its specialized capabilities in high-voltage infrastructure and nuclear power facility services.
