Business
Purcari Wineries Public Company Limited is an integrated wine and brandy producer operating in Central and Eastern Europe. Founded with historical roots dating back to 1827 and registered in Nicosia, Cyprus, with primary operational headquarters in Bucharest, Romania, and Chișinău, Republic of Moldova, the company engages in viticulture, grape harvesting, vinification, blending, bottling, distribution, and wine tourism. Purcari Wineries operates through four principal business segments: Romania, Republic of Moldova, Bulgaria, and Other International Export Markets. The company offers a comprehensive range of alcoholic beverages and hospitality services, including premium, super-premium, and mainstream still red, white, and rosé wines; traditional method and Charmat method sparkling wines; dessert and ice wines; aged grape brandies (divin); and agro-tourism and event hosting services at its château resorts. Its brand portfolio includes Château Purcari, offering super-premium still wines such as Negru de Purcari, Alb de Purcari, Freedom Blend, 1827, and Nocturne, alongside the Cuvée de Purcari sparkling wine range; Crama Ceptura, providing Romanian designated origin wines under the Cervus Magnus Monte, Astrum Cervi, and Dominum Cervi labels; Bostavan, providing high-volume varietal and accessible wines; Domeniile Cuza; Angel's Estate, featuring Bulgarian regional wines under the Stallion, Angel, and Cattleya lines; and Bardar, producing aged distilled brandies and divins ranging from 3-year to 25-year aging classifications. In recent strategic and operational developments, Purcari Wineries completed the acquisition of a 76% controlling interest in Bulgarian winery Angel's Estate, expanding its geographical production footprint and vineyard holdings into the Thracian Valley. The company launched the super-premium Academia Purcari line, focused on amphora-fermented limited-edition wines, as well as the Purcari Native organic wine series to address growing consumer demand for sustainable viticulture. Additionally, Purcari Wineries implemented multi-site renewable energy projects by installing commercial solar photovoltaic systems across its processing facilities, entered into expanded distribution agreements across Western Europe and Asia-Pacific markets, and secured inclusion in international benchmark indices including the FTSE Global Micro Cap and FTSE Global Total Cap indices.
