Business
CAE Inc. CAE Inc. is a Canadian high-technology company that designs, manufactures and supplies simulation and modelling technologies, integrated training solutions and critical operations support services primarily to civil aviation, defence and security customers worldwide. Founded in 1947 and headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, the company operates manufacturing facilities and training centres in 35 countries across five continents, with key segments encompassing Civil Aviation Training, offering full-flight simulators (such as CAE 3000, CAE 5000 and CAE 7000XR series), flight training devices (including CAE 400XR and CAE 500XR), ab initio pilot training, cabin crew and maintenance training programs, airline operations digital solutions like CAE Rise for data-driven insights, and crew sourcing services; and Defence and Security, providing scalable simulation-based training systems for air, land and maritime forces, live-virtual-constructive environments, mission training platforms and integrated solutions for military organizations, governments and public safety agencies. CAE manages approximately 363 full-flight simulators globally and delivers training through its network of over 50 aviation centres, including CAE SimuFlite in the United States, CAE Oxford Aviation Academy and partnerships such as with Airways Aviation Academy. Recent developments include a November 2025 worldwide cooperation agreement with Saab designating CAE as the preferred supplier for training and simulation on GlobalEye airborne early warning platforms and other Saab systems, potentially tied to international contracts and Canada's AEW&C procurement; the inauguration of Asia Pacific's first E-Jets E2 training centre with Embraer in Singapore in early 2025; expansion of CAE Simulation Training Private Limited with a new pilot training centre in Mumbai; a multi-year contract with Nav Canada starting October 2024 for air traffic controller training in Montreal; completion of the sale of its Healthcare business to Madison Industries in 2025 for C$311 million enterprise value to sharpen focus on core aviation and defence segments; and organizational transformation under new President and CEO Matthew Fox Bromberg, appointed August 2025, featuring cost controls, elimination of the chief operating officer role, merger of commercial and business aviation training units, and a strategic shift away from large expansions toward operational efficiency.
