Business
Camurus AB (publ) (Nasdaq Stockholm: CAMX) is a Swedish science-led biopharmaceutical company that develops and commercializes innovative, long-acting medicines for patients with severe and chronic diseases, including opioid dependence, pain, cancer, endocrine disorders, rare diseases and supportive care; the company leverages its proprietary FluidCrystal drug delivery technology platform to create sustained-release formulations such as weekly and monthly subcutaneous depots. Core products on the market include Buvidal (buprenorphine prolonged-release injection) for opioid dependence, marketed in Europe, Australia and other regions through commercial partnerships; Brixadi (buprenorphine) extended-release subcutaneous injection for opioid use disorder in the US, distributed by partner Braeburn Pharmaceuticals; and Oczyesa (octreotide subcutaneous depot) for acromegaly and neuroendocrine tumours. The clinical pipeline features candidates like CAM2029 (octreotide depot) in phase 3 for neuroendocrine tumours and acromegaly, CAM2056 (semaglutide monthly depot) with positive topline phase 1 data for cardiometabolic diseases, CAM2038 (buprenorphine depot) for chronic pain, and programs in oncology and rare diseases developed in-house or with partners. Founded in 1991 and headquartered in Lund, Sweden, Camurus employs over 275 people with regional offices in the UK, Germany, Australia and the US; it operates primarily in Europe, North America and Australia. Recent developments include EU and UK approvals for Oczyesa in acromegaly (July 2025), UK launch of Oczyesa (November 2025), a June 2025 license and collaboration agreement with Eli Lilly for long-acting FluidCrystal incretins in cardiometabolic disease (with up to SEK 870m milestones plus royalties, excluding Camurus' independent semaglutide program), positive topline results from the CAM2056 phase 1 study (November 2025), and POSITANO phase 2b data for CAM2029 in polycystic liver disease (June 2025).
