Business
The Chemours Company (NYSE: CC), founded in 2015 as a spin-off from DuPont's performance chemicals business and headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware, provides performance chemicals essential for industries including automotive, electronics, energy, coatings, and medical applications. The company operates through three core segments: Titanium Technologies, offering Ti-Pure titanium dioxide pigments for coatings, plastics, and paper; Thermal & Specialized Solutions, producing refrigerants such as Opteon and Freon, foam blowing agents, propellants, and industrial fluoropolymers; and Advanced Performance Materials, supplying fluoropolymer resins and derivatives including Teflon, Viton, Nafion, Krytox, and ECCtreme for semiconductors, batteries, and high-performance applications; alongside chemical solutions like sodium cyanide, sulfuric acid, aniline, and mining intermediates. With approximately 6,000 employees and 29 manufacturing facilities across nine countries, Chemours markets its products in 120 countries, generating $5.8 billion in net sales for 2024. Chemours maintains a global presence in North America, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Latin America, serving roughly 2,900 customers with a focus on high-growth areas such as data center cooling, next-generation refrigerants, electric vehicles, clean energy, and semiconductor fabrication under its Pathway to Thrive strategy. Recent developments include a March 2025 strategic alliance with Energy Fuels Inc. to bolster U.S. domestic supply chains for rare earth elements, titanium, and zirconium minerals, leveraging complementary mining operations in Florida, Georgia, Madagascar, Brazil, and Australia; and August 2025 agreements with SRF Limited in India for manufacturing high-quality fluoroproducts to enhance supply flexibility without capital investment, supporting essential applications by 2026. The company appointed Denise Dignam as President and CEO, alongside leadership additions like Matthew Conti as Chief Human Resources Officer and Nathan Blom as Vice President of Liquid Cooling Growth Portfolio, amid strategic investments in sustainability such as PFAS emission reductions. Chemours reported third-quarter 2025 net sales of $1.495 billion and continues portfolio optimization through prior divestitures including its mining solutions business in 2021 and glycolic acid business in 2023.
