(Nasdaq: CFFN) is a unitary savings and loan holding company for Capitol Federal Savings Bank, a federally chartered savings bank that provides a full range of retail banking products and services to consumers and businesses primarily in the metropolitan areas of Topeka, Wichita, Lawrence, Manhattan, Emporia, Salina, Kansas, and greater Kansas City; founded in 1893 and headquartered in Topeka, Kansas, the bank offers deposit products including checking accounts, savings accounts, money market accounts, interest-bearing and non-interest-bearing demand deposits, certificates of deposit, individual retirement accounts and other retirement accounts; lending products and services such as one- to four-family residential real estate loans, commercial real estate loans, commercial and industrial loans, construction loans, home equity loans, consumer loans, student loans and mortgage loans including conventional fixed-rate mortgages, adjustable-rate mortgages, VA loans, purchase plus improvement loans, construction loans and Home-at-Last loans; brokerage services and trust management services; business banking solutions encompassing cash flow optimization, payment processing and security enhancements; and digital banking options like online banking, mobile banking and eStatements. The company completed the acquisition of Capital City Bancshares, Inc. and its subsidiary Capital City Bank in recent years to expand product and service offerings, diversify asset and deposit bases with commercial loan portfolio growth from $319.1 million to $2.12 billion and non-retail deposits from $194.8 million to $508.2 million, and enhance revenue opportunities; executed a securities portfolio restructuring in October 2023 by selling $1.30 billion of low-yield securities, purchasing $632.0 million of higher-yield securities and repaying $500.0 million of Bank Term Funding debt, resulting in a net interest margin increase of approximately 60 basis points in fiscal year 2024 and further improvement in fiscal year 2025; and continues strategic shifts toward commercial lending with $136.5 million in commercial real estate loan commitments as of March 31, 2025, alongside ongoing branch operations through 46 locations including two in-store branches.
