In recent developments, Ciena agrees to acquire Nubis Communications for $270 million to enhance high-performance optical and electrical interconnects for data center AI applications, expected to close in fiscal fourth quarter 2025; partners with Flex to expand U.S. manufacturing of pluggable OLTs and ONUs supporting BEAD-funded broadband projects; deploys WaveLogic 6 technology with Lumen for AI-enabled capacity upgrades and with Comcast to extend rural fiber reach; and achieves records like 1.6 Tb/s transmissions with Altibox and Telia Norway while launching quantum-secure projects with REDIMadrid.
