Business
General Enterprise Ventures, Inc. (NYSE American: CITR) develops and commercializes non-toxic, environmentally safe wildfire defense solutions through its wholly owned subsidiary Mighty Fire Breaker, LLC; the company offers wildfire home defense systems, mobile and ground application systems, and specialized products for manufacturing fire-resilient building materials, all powered by its proprietary CitroTech fire inhibitor, the only such product designated EPA Safer Choice and UL GREENGUARD GOLD certified. CitroTech formulations, including MFB31 for wildfire defense and MFB34 for treating lumber against fire and mold, utilize food-grade ingredients from renewable sources such as corn and fruits; the company also develops lumber coatings for pre-manufacture application. Headquartered in Cheyenne, Wyoming, with operations including production facilities in Rohnert Park and Oceanside, California, General Enterprise Ventures serves homeowners, fire departments, developers, and commercial customers primarily in 11 western U.S. states facing heightened wildfire risks and insurance challenges in urban-wildland interfaces. Originally incorporated in Nevada in 1990 and renamed General Enterprise Ventures, Inc. in October 2021 following a redomiciliation to Wyoming, the company entered the flame retardant and suppression sector in April 2022 by acquiring the intellectual property portfolio of Mighty Fire Breaker, LLC (California), including 30 granted patents, 26 pending patents, 21 trademarks, and related copyrights focused on fire inhibition chemistry, suppression systems, and dispersion tracking. In September 2025, it closed a $6.3 million Series C Preferred Stock financing round with insider participation from executives including CEO Ted Ralston and CTO Steve Conboy, bolstering its balance sheet for growth initiatives, operational expansion, and uplisting pursuits. In November 2025, the company announced its uplisting to the NYSE American under ticker CITR, effective around December 3, 2025, transitioning from OTC trading to enhance institutional access and shareholder base. Recent strategic moves include forming GEVI Insurance Holdings Inc. in June 2024 and its subsidiary MFB Insurance Company, Inc. in February 2025 as an approved captive insurer in Hawaii to address wildfire insurance gaps tied to its products. A March 2025 change of control occurred when Theodore Ralston became the majority voting shareholder via TC Special Investments, LLC.
