Business
Clearfield, Inc. (NASDAQ: CLFD) designs, manufactures and distributes fiber optic management, protection and delivery products for communications networks; its core offerings include the patented Clearview Cassette-based modular fiber management platform, FieldShield fiber delivery systems, WaveSmart optical components such as high-density splitters and wavelength management solutions, ClearPass connector cleaning solutions, fiber distribution frames and panels, enclosures, terminals, cassettes, cable assemblies, microducts and accessories that enable rapid fiber deployments while reducing labor and total ownership costs. The company serves incumbent local exchange carriers, competitive local exchange carriers, MSO/cable TV operators, utilities, municipalities, enterprises, data centers and military markets primarily across North America with products supporting fiber-to-the-home, fiber-to-the-premises, cellular backhaul and edge applications. Founded in 1986 and headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Clearfield operates through its Clearfield segment following the November 2025 divestiture of its Nestor Cables subsidiary—a European fiber optic cable and microduct manufacturer—to a management buyout, enabling vertical integration of FieldShield production in North America to support Build America, Buy America requirements, streamline costs and enhance margins. Recent developments include adding WireMasters as a global distributor focused on defense and aerospace in fiscal 2025, planning a wireless distributor for cellular backhaul in early fiscal 2026, repurchasing $16.5 million in shares during fiscal 2025 with board authorization increased to $85 million, and achieving 20% net sales growth from continuing operations to $150.1 million in fiscal 2025 alongside gross margin expansion of over 13 percentage points.
