Commercial International Bank (Egypt) S.A.E. (CIB) operates as Egypt's leading private-sector bank, providing a comprehensive range of financial products and services to enterprises of all sizes, institutions, households, high-net-worth individuals, and small and medium-sized enterprises; its core offerings encompass consumer banking with personal and specialized lending solutions, cash management, credit and debit cards for segments including Prime, Plus, Wealth, and Private clients; institutional banking through CIB Business Online for secure transaction processing; debt capital markets, direct investment, treasury services, and financial institution support; as well as retail, SME, corporate, and wealth management solutions. Founded in 1975 as a joint venture between the National Bank of Egypt and Chase Manhattan Bank and headquartered at Nile Tower Building, 21/23 Charles de Gaulle Street in Giza, Cairo, Egypt, CIB maintains primary operations across Egypt with expanding cross-border presence in East Africa, including subsidiaries or operations in Kenya and Ethiopia to facilitate intra-African trade, cash flow lending, payment enhancements, and private banking services. Recent developments include a strategic partnership with WE in March 2025 to deliver digital financial services and Banking-as-a-Service for millions of customers via extensive distribution channels to boost financial inclusion; a collaboration with talabat and Mastercard announced in October 2025 for a new credit card tailored to digital economy users; extension of EGP 30 billion in long-term financing to the Suez Canal Economic Zone in 2025 repayable over 15 years; a financing agreement with CRC for the Solana project in New Zayed in February 2025; first Egyptian bank to launch Apple Pay for CIB Visa Business credit cards targeting SMEs; renewal of ACCA Approved Employer accreditation; and positioning Nairobi as East Africa headquarters while advancing sustainable finance with targets to grow its Green Asset Ratio by 1-2% annually.
