Core & Main, Inc. is a specialty distributor focused on water, wastewater, storm drainage, and fire protection products and related services. The company offers an extensive product portfolio including pipes, valves, hydrants, fittings, storm drainage products such as corrugated HDPE and metal piping systems, retention basins, inline drains, manholes, grates, geosynthetics, erosion control products, fire protection pipes, valves, fittings, sprinkler heads, and associated accessories. It also provides smart meter products and smart metering solutions encompassing meter accessories, meter installation, network infrastructure, software installation, training, and long-term services, alongside engineered treatment plant products. Core & Main supports maintenance, repair, replacement, and construction of water and fire protection infrastructure for municipalities, private water companies, and professional contractors primarily in the United States, operating through more than 370 locations nationwide and employing about 5,700 associates. The company is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri and was founded through the consolidation of over 100 legacy companies. In the last two years, Core & Main has expanded its geographic footprint and product offerings through strategic acquisitions and partnerships. Notably, in August 2024, it entered the Canadian market by acquiring HM Pipe Products, Inc. and HM Pipe Products Kitchener Inc., distributors of water and wastewater products in Ontario. In October 2024, Core & Main completed the acquisition of Eastcom Associates Inc., a distributor of underground utility protection equipment. The company also formed strategic collaborations in 2024 and 2025 to enhance its smart utility solutions, including partnerships with M.E. Simpson Company, Inc. and eLynx Water Solutions to integrate advanced technical services and water management technology into its portfolio. Additionally, Core & Main partnered with Baseform, Inc. to offer advanced water and wastewater analytics software, strengthening its CORE+ Smart Utility Solutions group aimed at providing scalable technologies and data-driven investment tools to utilities. Core & Main continues to pursue disciplined mergers and acquisitions to augment its national supply chain capabilities and product lines while maintaining alignment with its entrepreneurial culture and local service focus. Core & Main’s business segments center on specialty distribution for municipal and nonresidential water infrastructure markets, including construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation of underground water, wastewater, storm drainage, and fire protection systems. The company’s latest financial performance reflects steady growth, with revenue surpassing $7.6 billion projected for 2025 and a consistent focus on expanding operational reach and technological capabilities to meet evolving utility infrastructure demands.
