It also provides smart meter products and smart metering solutions encompassing meter accessories, meter installation, network infrastructure, software installation, training, and long-term services, alongside engineered treatment plant products. Core & Main supports maintenance, repair, replacement, and construction of water and fire protection infrastructure for municipalities, private water companies, and professional contractors primarily in the United States, operating through more than 370 locations nationwide and employing about 5,700 associates. The company is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri and was founded through the consolidation of over 100 legacy companies. In the last two years, Core & Main has expanded its geographic footprint and product offerings through strategic acquisitions and partnerships. Notably, in August 2024, it entered the Canadian market by acquiring HM Pipe Products, Inc. and HM Pipe Products Kitchener Inc., distributors of water and wastewater products in Ontario. In October 2024, Core & Main completed the acquisition of Eastcom Associates Inc., a distributor of underground utility protection equipment. The company also formed strategic collaborations in 2024 and 2025 to enhance its smart utility solutions, including partnerships with M.E. Simpson Company, Inc. and eLynx Water Solutions to integrate advanced technical services and water management technology into its portfolio.
