- Amplitude Energy Ltd is an Australian oil and gas exploration, development, and production company primarily engaged in supplying domestic natural gas and producing low-cost oil. Its core products and services include natural gas supply through gas contracts in southeastern Australia, oil production primarily from the Cooper Basin, and exploration activities focused on developing new domestic gas resources. The company leverages well-located reserves and infrastructure in key basins including the Otway and Gippsland basins. Amplitude Energy serves Australian homes and businesses, maintaining a commitment to local energy supply and is part of the Australian Made Campaign, underscoring its focus on domestic energy security. Founded in 2002 and headquartered in Adelaide, South Australia, it operates through segments including the Cooper Basin and southeastern Australia, managing key assets such as the Orbost and Athena Gas Plants. Recently, the company underwent a significant rebranding, changing its name from Cooper Energy Limited to Amplitude Energy Ltd in 2024 to reflect its strategic repositioning towards being a dedicated domestic gas supplier supporting Australia's energy transition. This shift includes targeting premium domestic gas markets with an emphasis on sustainable production and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, aiming for a 40% reduction in flaring emissions by 2030. Amplitude Energy is advancing its East Coast Supply Project (ECSP), which focuses on low-risk exploration prospects while optimizing the use of existing infrastructure to accelerate development and increase gas supply reliability. The company also plans to drill exploration sites such as Elanora/Isabella-ST and support production stabilization initiatives with partners like Beach Energy. These strategic initiatives position Amplitude Energy for growth in supplying safe, reliable, and locally sourced energy amidst evolving Australian energy demands. Amplitude Energy is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX: AEL) and targets energy markets primarily within Australia. Its strategic alliances and operational improvements focus on increasing gas volumes, enhancing production reliability, and expanding exposure to spot gas markets. The company maintains a lean operational structure with a small workforce, supporting its focus on cost-effective and efficient energy production. This strategic focus reflects a comprehensive approach to meeting domestic energy demand with environmentally conscious practices, leveraging established infrastructure, and pursuing targeted exploration to grow reserves and sales volumes. Through this, Amplitude Energy aims to contribute to Australia's energy future as a responsible and reliable energy provider.
