Aktieselskabet Schouw & Co. is a Denmark-based industrial conglomerate that makes long-term investments in and actively develops leading Danish industrial businesses across diversified B2B sectors. The company operates six core business segments: BioMar, which manufactures premium feed products for salmon, trout, shrimp, sea bass, and sea bream used in aquaculture; Fibertex Personal Care, which produces spunmelt nonwovens for diapers, sanitary towels, incontinence products, and related printing services; Fibertex Nonwovens, which supplies needlepunch and spunmelt nonwovens for industrial applications including filtration, automotive, construction, hygiene wipes, and technical uses; GPV, which provides electronic manufacturing services encompassing electronics, mechanics, cable harnessing, and mechatronics for industrials, building technology, transportation, medical, clean tech, and high-tech consumer markets; HydraSpecma, which delivers hydraulic and electrical systems, components, and solutions for construction, renewables, mobile equipment, and original equipment manufacturers; and Borg Automotive, which remanufactures automotive parts such as brake calipers, turbochargers, starters, alternators, air-conditioning compressors, EGR valves, steering racks, and pumps for the B2B aftermarket. These businesses process inputs like vegetable raw materials, polymers, fibers, metals, and electronic components to produce specialized outputs for global end-markets. Founded in 1878 and headquartered in Aarhus, Denmark, the company maintains production facilities across 29 countries, with key operations in Europe, North and South America, Asia, and other regions, serving aquaculture, personal care, industrial, automotive, and electronics sectors. In recent developments, Schouw & Co. reported record-high operating profit for 2024 amid a turbulent environment, initiated a share buy-back program in May 2025 for up to DKK 120 million through year-end, and continues portfolio optimizations including factory restructurings at GPV for efficiency gains, capacity expansions at Fibertex Nonwovens with a new line in the Czech Republic launching in Q1 2026, and HydraSpecma's new 22,000 sqm facility in Tianjin, China, slated for Q2 2026. BioMar has secured new long-term contracts and market share gains in Chile while addressing biological challenges in Norway, with volume uplifts anticipated into 2025-2026; the group explores strategic platform investments emphasizing fit over rapid growth.
