- Crayon Group Holding ASA operates as a global IT services and advisory company focused on software asset management, cloud optimization, and digital transformation solutions. Founded in 2002 and headquartered in Oslo, Norway, the company delivers its offerings through four main segments: Software & Cloud Direct, Software & Cloud Channel, Software & Cloud Economics, and Consulting; these encompass software procurement, IT cost management including license optimization and cloud cost control, cloud migration and managed services such as AWS managed services and cloud cybersecurity assessments, data and AI solutions like machine learning operations and language technologies, as well as infrastructure consulting and software asset lifecycle management. With over 4,000 employees, Crayon serves public and private sector clients including SMEs and large enterprises across 46 countries in the Nordics, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Africa, and the United States.
In a transformative development, SoftwareOne Holding AG completed its acquisition of Crayon Group Holding ASA on July 2, 2025, for approximately NOK 10.8 billion in a stock-and-cash deal, issuing 62.5 million new shares to Crayon shareholders and creating a combined entity with CHF 1.6 billion in revenue, operations in over 70 countries, and around 13,000 employees. This merger positions the enlarged group as one of Microsoft's largest partners globally, enhancing geographic reach, technical capabilities, and service offerings with expected annual cost synergies of CHF 80-100 million within 18 months. The transaction, initially announced on December 19, 2024, followed shareholder approvals and regulatory clearances earlier in 2025.
