Business
CSRA Inc. is a leading provider of information technology solutions and professional services primarily to U.S. government customers. The company specializes in delivering digital platforms and services, data and analytics, intelligent business processes, enterprise business services, and cybersecurity services. Its product and service portfolio includes IT modernization tools such as FutureEdge, agile application solutions like CSRA AppWorks, enterprise networking, cybersecurity, infrastructure and application architecture services, as well as network and asset protection software. CSRA operates mainly through two segments: Defense and Intelligence, serving the Department of Defense (DoD), National Security Agency, branches of the Armed Forces, and other intelligence agencies; and Civil, catering to federal agencies including the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Health and Human Services, along with state and local government entities. Founded in 2015 through the merger of CSC's North American Public Sector business and SRA International, CSRA is headquartered in Falls Church, Virginia. The company positioned itself as a pure-play provider focused on next-generation IT solutions to support government missions. In 2017, CSRA notably acquired NES Associates, enhancing its capabilities in network engineering and IT modernization. A significant recent development occurred in 2018 when General Dynamics completed its acquisition of CSRA for approximately $9.6 billion. This acquisition integrated CSRA into General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), expanding GDIT's portfolio and strengthening its position as a premier high-tech IT solutions provider to government markets. Consequently, CSRA ceased independent public trading and now functions as a subsidiary of General Dynamics, continuing its mission under the larger corporate umbrella while advancing cost-effective, next-generation IT solutions and services across defense, intelligence, and federal civilian sectors. CSRA's operations cover a broad geographic range within the United States, delivering mission-critical IT and cybersecurity solutions to multiple federal, state, and local government clients. Its services are designed to modernize legacy systems, protect networks and assets, and support military and civilian government operations with innovative technology solutions. The company has also been recognized as a leader in technology services to the federal government, consistently ranking highly in several categories including knowledge-based services, medical supplies, training devices, and equipment-related services. Overall, CSRA Inc. offers a comprehensive suite of IT solutions encompassing software, cybersecurity, network transformation, digital modernization, and enterprise business services tailored for complex government agencies, driven by innovation and strategic acquisitions, now integrated within General Dynamics Information Technology.
