Business
Corteva, Inc. Corteva, Inc. (CTVA) develops and supplies advanced seed and crop protection products to enhance agricultural productivity worldwide. The company operates through two primary segments, Seed and Crop Protection; the Seed segment offers high-performance hybrid and traited seeds for row crops such as corn and soybeans under brands including Pioneer and Brevant, alongside specialty seeds for fruits, vegetables, and other crops, supported by digital selection tools and biotechnology traits for insect resistance and herbicide tolerance; the Crop Protection segment provides herbicides including the Enlist system, insecticides, fungicides, nitrogen stabilizers, seed treatments, biologicals, and pasture management solutions to combat weeds, diseases, insects, and nematodes. Corteva serves farmers and the agricultural input industry across more than 140 countries, with a focus on integrated solutions that combine genetics, chemistry, and digital agriculture technologies; it maintains a global manufacturing footprint, robust research and development investment exceeding $1.3 billion annually in genomics, biotechnology, and new active ingredients, and key brands like Pioneer, founded in 1926. Headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana since 2022 after relocating from Delaware, the company employs over 20,000 people and traces its origins to the 2019 spin-off from DowDuPont as a pure-play agriscience entity. Recent developments include the announcement in late September 2025 of plans to separate into two independent public companies along seed and crop protection lines, with current CEO Chuck Magro to lead the crop protection spin-co; additionally, Corteva entered a strategic collaboration and joint venture with gene-editing firm Pairwise in 2024, investing $25 million in equity to advance climate-resilient crops, and reaffirmed its Delaware presence in October 2025 by relocating corporate offices to downtown Wilmington while retaining over 200 jobs.
