- Compass Gold Corporation is a Canada-based gold exploration and development company focused on advancing near-surface gold mineralization toward small-scale production in southern Mali. The Company’s principal asset is the Sikasso Property, comprising approximately 900 square kilometres of gold exploration permits across three areas in southern Mali, including the Massala prospect on the Tarabala Trend. Its activities include gold-target generation and exploration; geological mapping; geochemical sampling; trenching; air-core, reverse-circulation and diamond drilling; mineral-resource definition; bulk sampling; metallurgical testing; mine-permit applications; and the evaluation, development and potential operation of small gold mines and associated processing facilities. Compass is pursuing initial production at Massala through a small-mine strategy that contemplates toll treatment of ore at the adjacent SMAT processing facility, while retaining the option to establish a wholly owned processing plant within the Massala permit area. The Company serves gold-market participants through the exploration, appraisal and prospective development of its Malian mineral properties. Compass Gold was incorporated in Ontario and acquired MGE and related Malian subsidiaries in 2017, through which it holds its Mali exploration interests; it is headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and is a Tier 2 issuer on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol CVB. Recent developments include the receipt of an environmental permit for the proposed Massala small mine in November 2025; the completion in February 2026 of a brokered private placement raising gross proceeds of C$5.40 million, with Canaccord Genuity Corp. acting as sole agent and bookrunner, to fund evaluation of a Massala processing facility, drilling, metallurgical studies, bulk sampling and working capital; and the completion of a 42-hole, 1,457.3-metre resource-definition diamond drilling program at Massala in May 2026. In August 2026, Compass reported final assays from the program, including an intercept of 8.35 metres grading 2.82 grams per tonne gold, and stated that the results would be incorporated into planning for initial Massala production. The Massala Small Mine Permit remains pending with the Malian authorities; consequently, the Company’s planned development approach remains subject to permitting, additional technical work and the elevated risks associated with advancing production without a feasibility study demonstrating mineral reserves and economic and technical viability.
