Business
Cassius Ventures Ltd. is a Canada-based gold exploration company engaged in the acquisition, exploration and development of mineral properties, with a focus on gold and other precious metals deposits in mining-friendly jurisdictions; the company was incorporated in 2007 and is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia. Its activities center on identifying and advancing exploration- and development-stage mineral properties, including projects previously held in Nicaragua through its subsidiary Fortress de Nicaragua S.A., although the company sold Fortress in April 2015 after unsuccessful efforts to restructure concession rents. Cassius Ventures has not reported operating revenues and continues to operate as an exploration-stage issuer listed on the TSX Venture Exchange under the ticker CZ.H. Recent corporate developments include the October 2023 retirement of John Thomas as chairman, chief executive officer and president and the appointment of Gerrie van der Westhuizen to those roles; the company also reported in December 2024 arrangements to address mailing delays caused by the Canada Post strike ahead of its annual general meeting and, in its 2024 financial disclosures, noted the issuance of unsecured promissory notes and continued funding needs as it seeks new mineral opportunities.
