Business
Dana Incorporated manufactures and supplies power-conveyance and energy-management solutions for vehicles and machinery worldwide. The company offers drivetrain systems including axles, driveshafts, transmissions, and e-axles; electrodynamic technologies such as electric motors, inverters, software, controls, and complete e-propulsion systems; sealing solutions like gaskets, seals, cam covers, and oil pan modules; thermal-management technologies encompassing transmission and engine oil cooling, battery and electronics cooling, charge air cooling, and thermal-acoustical protective shielding; and digital solutions featuring active and passive system controls plus descriptive and predictive analytics; as well as aftermarket service parts and remanufactured products. It operates through segments focused on light vehicle drive systems for passenger cars, SUVs, and light trucks; commercial vehicle drive and motion systems for medium- and heavy-duty trucks and buses; off-highway drive and motion systems for construction, agriculture, and mining equipment; and power technologies for on-highway, off-highway, and industrial applications. Founded in 1904 and headquartered in Maumee, Ohio, Dana maintains manufacturing facilities, engineering centers, and operations in approximately 30 countries across North America, Europe, South America, Asia-Pacific, and other regions, serving nearly every major vehicle and engine manufacturer. In June 2025, Dana announced a definitive agreement to sell its off-highway business to Allison Transmission for $2.7 billion, a transaction that received all required regulatory approvals by November 2025 and is expected to close late in the fourth quarter, enabling a strategic focus on light- and commercial-vehicle propulsion systems, balance sheet strengthening, $1 billion in capital returns to shareholders, and ongoing $300 million cost-savings initiatives.
