DBS Group Holdings Ltd (DBSDF) is a multinational banking and financial services corporation headquartered in Singapore that provides consumer banking, wealth management, institutional banking, and global financial markets services across 19 markets in Asia and internationally. DBS operates through three primary segments: Consumer Banking/Wealth Management, offering current and savings accounts, fixed deposits, loans and home financing, cards, payments, investments, and insurance products to individual customers; Institutional Banking, providing short-term working capital financing, specialized lending, cash management, trade finance, securities and fiduciary services, treasury and markets products, corporate finance advisory, and capital markets solutions to banks, non-bank financial institutions, government-linked companies, large corporates, and small and medium-sized enterprises; and Global Financial Markets, engaged in structuring, market-making, and trading various treasury products. Founded in 1968 as the Development Bank of Singapore and listed on the Singapore Exchange since 1999, DBS maintains dominant positions in consumer banking, treasury and markets, and securities brokerage in key markets including Singapore, Greater China (Hong Kong, mainland China, Taiwan), India, Indonesia, and Southeast Asia, serving over 18 million consumer/wealth management customers and 280,000 institutional clients with approximately 41,000 employees. Temasek Holdings owns a significant stake as the largest shareholder. Recent developments include Tan Su Shan succeeding Piyush Gupta as CEO in March 2025 and Derrick Goh assuming the COO role in April 2025; strategic stake increases to 19.4% in Shenzhen Rural Commercial Bank for Greater Bay Area expansion and deepened partnerships with Postal Savings Bank of China; synergies from the 2023 acquisition of Citigroup's consumer banking business in Taiwan, driving 61% income growth to S$1.2 billion; full-service platform consolidation in India post-Lakshmi Vilas Bank amalgamation with 25% income rise; a pact with Austrade to double the Australian lending book from A$11 billion to A$20 billion over five years; sustainable financing growth to S$89 billion; and a new S$3 billion share buyback program.
