- DNO ASA DNO ASA is a Norwegian oil and gas exploration and production company focused on onshore and offshore assets in the Middle East, the North Sea and West Africa. Founded in 1971 and headquartered in Oslo, Norway, the company holds a 75% operating interest in the Tawke and Peshkabir fields in Iraq's Kurdistan region; a 9% interest in Côte d’Ivoire’s Block CI-27; approximately 85 licenses offshore Norway including in the North Sea, Norwegian Sea and Barents Sea; seven licenses offshore the United Kingdom; and one offshore license in the Netherlands, along with interests in Yemen's Block 43. DNO operates through segments including Kurdistan for Tawke and Peshkabir production; North Sea encompassing oil and gas activities in Norway and the UK; West Africa via its equity investment in Côte d’Ivoire; and other exploration licenses in Cretaceous, Jurassic and Triassic reservoirs across these regions, serving markets through oil sales, gas, natural gas liquids and tariff income. In mid-2025, DNO completed the acquisition of Sval Energi AS, quadrupling its North Sea output and adding high-quality assets with contingent resources of around 100 million barrels of oil equivalent from discoveries such as Bergknapp, Carmen and Heisenberg. Recent strategic moves include a November 2025 multi-asset swap with Aker BP ASA increasing its Verdande field stake from 10.5% to 14% in exchange for interests in Vilje field, Kveikje discovery and three exploration licenses, aligning with portfolio high-grading; acquisition of a stake in the Cassio prospect offshore Norway; advancement of the Brasse field (to be renamed Bestla) development for first-half 2027 production start with 24 million barrels recoverable reserves; and awards of 13 new exploration licenses in Norway's 2024 APA round, including four operatorships. The company maintains subsidiaries such as DNO Yemen AS and DNO UK Ltd, with operations supported by a network of offices in the MENA region and approximately 987 employees.
