In recent developments, MTR sealed a Northern Link (Part 1) project agreement with the Hong Kong government in July 2025 targeting completion no later than 2034, closed a HKD30 billion seven-year syndicated green loan in September 2025 with 57 global banks, priced USD 3 billion in subordinated perpetual securities and public senior notes in 2025, announced 2025 interim results in August 2025 reflecting ongoing railway investments, awarded the Tuen Mun A16 Station property tender in November 2025, appointed a new Hong Kong Transport Services Director and welcomed Dr Jacob Kam as chairman in late 2025, and froze fares for the year in March 2025 per its adjustment mechanism while continuing community concessions.
