DaVita Inc. provides kidney care services, primarily dialysis treatments for patients with chronic kidney failure and end-stage kidney disease; operates approximately 2,675 outpatient dialysis centers in the United States serving more than 200,000 patients and 367 centers in 11 other countries serving around 49,400 patients; offers related laboratory services, including routine tests for dialysis patients and other physician-prescribed tests; delivers home-based hemodialysis, hospital inpatient dialysis, and acute inpatient dialysis services; provides integrated kidney care and disease management through DaVita Integrated Kidney Care for risk-based arrangements; conducts clinical research via DaVita Clinical Research since 1985 across pharmaceutical and medical device development; supports nephrologists with technology solutions through DaVita Physician Solutions; and develops innovative health care solutions for kidney disease patients through DaVita Venture Group. The company, incorporated in 1994 and formerly known as DaVita HealthCare Partners Inc. until a 2016 name change, maintains world headquarters in Denver, Colorado, and generates the majority of revenues from Medicare and government-based programs while targeting commercial payers for higher margins; it holds a 37% share of the U.S. dialysis market and operates internationally across regions including Latin America, Europe, and Asia. DaVita Inc. recently expanded internationally through 2024 acquisitions from Fresenius Medical Care for $300 million, adding over 270 clinics in Brazil, Colombia, Chile, and Ecuador to become Latin America's largest dialysis provider; entered new markets in Ecuador and Chile while deepening presence in Colombia; refinanced debt with a new $1.9 billion Term Loan B-2 and $3.5 billion credit facilities including a $2 billion Term Loan A-2 and $1.5 billion revolving facility in 2025; issued $1 billion in senior notes due 2033; and reported Q3 2025 revenues of $3.42 billion amid volume challenges from flu season, Hurricane Helene, and a cyber incident.
