Business
Eurobank Ergasias Services and Holdings S.A. is a financial services holding company and the parent entity of the Eurobank Group, operating primarily in Greece, Cyprus, Luxembourg, Bulgaria, the United Kingdom, and other Central and Southeastern European markets. The company provides a comprehensive range of banking and financial products and services, including retail banking products such as current accounts, savings accounts, deposits, credit and debit cards, mortgages, personal and business loans, overdrafts, and other credit facilities. Its offerings extend to corporate and private banking, asset management, treasury and capital markets services, financial leasing, factoring and forfaiting, cash management, trade finance, custody and clearing services, and investment property management. Established in 1990 and headquartered in Athens, Greece, Eurobank Ergasias Services and Holdings operates through various business segments including Retail, Corporate, Global Markets and Asset Management, International operations, and Investment Property. The Group targets a diverse customer base comprising individual consumers, SMEs, large corporations, and institutional clients across its geographic footprint. It maintains subsidiaries such as Eurobank Cyprus Ltd and Eurobank Private Bank Luxembourg SA, reflecting its strategic presence in key regional markets. In the last 1-2 years, Eurobank has undergone significant strategic changes, notably the approved merger by absorption of Eurobank Holdings by Eurobank S.A., expected to be completed around December 2025, following regulatory approvals including from the European Central Bank. This reverse merger consolidates Eurobank's structure and delists Eurobank Holdings shares from the Athens Exchange. The company has also expanded through acquisitions, including the integration of Hellenic Bank in Cyprus, strengthening its market position there. Recent strategic initiatives include a €200 million tap issue of senior fixed-rate notes and organic credit growth projections, alongside efforts to enhance its asset quality and capital base. Eurobank continues to focus on wealth management expansion, enhanced digital banking services, and sustainable finance under its ESG framework, aiming to deliver long-term value and strong financial performance. Overall, Eurobank Ergasias Services and Holdings S.A. is a full-service banking and financial group with a strategic emphasis on diversified financial products and regional expansion through mergers and acquisitions, serving retail, corporate, and institutional clients primarily in Greece and Southeastern Europe, with a strong focus on capital markets, asset management, and comprehensive banking solutions. Its recent restructuring and business growth initiatives position it for enhanced competitiveness and profitability in the evolving European financial landscape.
