Egyptian Gulf Bank (S.A.E.), commercially known as EGBANK, is an Egyptian commercial banking institution that provides comprehensive retail, corporate, Islamic, and investment banking solutions to individuals, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), large corporations, and institutional clients. Established in 1981 and headquartered in Giza, Egypt, the bank operates as an Egyptian-Gulf joint financial enterprise listed on the Egyptian Exchange under the ticker symbol EGBE, with substantial shareholding interests held by institutional and private investors across Egypt and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), including Misr Insurance Company and the Bukhamseen Group. The bank operates through multiple core divisions comprising Retail Banking, Corporate Banking, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Treasury and Capital Markets, and Sharia-compliant Islamic Banking. Its retail product portfolio includes current, savings, and investment accounts; high-yield certificates of deposit (CDs) and fixed time deposits; personal loans, auto loans, residential mortgage facilities, education loans, and durable goods financing; credit, debit, and contactless payment cards; wealth management and private banking services; and bancassurance products. Its corporate and institutional banking operations provide working capital facilities, medium- and long-term project finance, and syndicated loan participation; trade finance services, including letters of credit, documentary collections, and letters of guarantee; structured finance; cash and liquidity management; and automated corporate payroll solutions. Under its specialized youth-focused platform, MINT by EGBANK, the bank delivers customized digital banking products, tailored credit solutions, entrepreneurship incubator services, and venture mentorship. Through its subsidiaries—including Egyptian Gulf Holding Company for Financial Investments, Egyptian Gulf Company for Financial Consultations, Shahri Holding Company for Financial Investments, Shahri for Consumer Finance, and Shahri Microfinance—the institution provides microfinance, consumer financing, and financial advisory services across Egypt. In recent operational developments, EGBANK has intensified its digital transformation and service diversification through multiple strategic alliances. The bank established a long-term partnership with Mastercard to modernize its digital payment architecture and upgrade its commercial, debit, and credit card portfolios. In wealth management, EGBANK partnered with Azimut Egypt to broaden its suite of mutual fund offerings and investment management advisory for individual and affluent clients. In asset-backed digital lending, the bank collaborated with autoclub to integrate automated digital auto-financing solutions. Additionally, through MINT by EGBANK, the institution entered into a strategic collaboration with venture builder Value Makers Studio to facilitate cross-border market expansion into Saudi Arabia and the broader GCC region for Egyptian startups, while maintaining consistent double-digit earnings growth and expanding its nationwide branch and digital delivery networks.
