Export Development Bank of Egypt S.A.E., commercially known as EBank, is a specialized financial institution that provides commercial banking, trade finance, and export development services to corporate, institutional, small and medium-sized enterprise, and retail clients across Egypt. Founded in 1983 and headquartered in New Cairo, Egypt, the bank operates as a joint-stock company listed on the Egyptian Exchange under the ticker EXPA. The institution was originally established pursuant to special legislation to stimulate and facilitate the development of Egyptian exports, and it has evolved into a full-service universal bank while maintaining its core mission of supporting export-oriented industries and international trade. The bank conducts its operations through several core business segments comprising Corporate and Investment Banking, Trade and Export Finance, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Banking, Retail and Consumer Banking, Treasury and Capital Markets, and Islamic Banking. Its product and service offerings encompass trade finance solutions, including export credit facilities, import and export letters of credit, documentary collections, letters of guarantee, bid and performance bonds, structured trade finance, and factoring services; corporate banking products, including working capital financing, medium- and long-term project loans, syndicated facilities, equipment financing, structured debt, and corporate cash management solutions; retail banking products, including current and savings accounts, time deposits, fixed- and floating-rate certificates of deposit, personal loans, auto loans, mortgage finance, credit cards, debit cards, prepaid cards, and online and mobile banking platforms; small and medium-sized enterprise solutions, including specialized credit lines, supply chain financing, micro-enterprise facilities, and Central Bank of Egypt subsidized initiative loans; treasury and market operations, including foreign exchange trading, liquidity management, money market instruments, government debt underwriting, and interest rate hedging; and Sharia-compliant banking products, including Murabaha, Ijarah, and Islamic trade finance instruments provided through dedicated branches. The bank also operates specialized subsidiaries and affiliates engaged in financial leasing, securities brokerage, asset management, and export credit guarantee services. In recent operational and strategic developments, EBank has accelerated its corporate transformation and modernized its brand identity to expand beyond traditional export financing into a comprehensive digital-first universal banking ecosystem. Within the past two years, the bank has executed substantial capital increases to strengthen its capital adequacy ratio in adherence to Central Bank of Egypt regulatory mandates and to support long-term asset growth. The bank has substantially broadened its digital banking infrastructure by deploying upgraded omnichannel retail and corporate digital platforms, integrating with national instant payment networks, and launching contactless and digital onboarding capabilities. In addition, EBank has formed strategic partnerships and secured multi-currency credit and trade facilitation lines with regional and international development finance institutions, including the African Export-Import Bank, to expand liquidity support for Egyptian exporters and enhance cross-border trade across the African continent. The institution has also integrated environmental, social, and governance criteria into its credit underwriting framework, establishing dedicated green and sustainable finance programs aimed at financing renewable energy, eco-friendly manufacturing, and resource-efficient export operations.
