Business
Ibnsina Pharma is an Egypt-based supply chain and pharmaceutical distribution company engaged primarily in the wholesale distribution, storage, and commercialization of pharmaceutical, personal care, and healthcare products across Egypt. Founded in 2001 and headquartered in El Obour City, Egypt, the company operates as a vital intermediary connecting domestic and multinational pharmaceutical manufacturers with retail pharmacies, hospital networks, clinics, and wholesale institutions throughout the Middle East and North Africa region. The company distributes products sourced from more than 350 multinational and Egyptian pharmaceutical manufacturers to a customer base exceeding 40,000 independent pharmacies, retail pharmacy chains, public and private hospitals, and medical centers across all Egyptian governorates, supported by a logistics network of more than 50 distribution centers and hubs and a temperature-controlled delivery fleet of over 600 vehicles. The company offers an integrated portfolio of products and services organized across multiple commercial and operational categories: distribution of ethical prescription medications, specialty biologics, vaccines, and generic drugs; supply of over-the-counter (OTC) medicines and consumer healthcare products; distribution of personal care, beauty, infant nutrition, and dermocosmetics; specialized third-party logistics (3PL), inventory management, bonded storage, and cold-chain temperature-controlled warehousing; digital commerce and automated ordering platforms for retail pharmacies; and commercial support services for pharmaceutical manufacturers, including telesales, targeted promotional campaigns, market intelligence, regulatory support, importation, and secondary packaging. Through its investment and diversification arm, AIM Healthcare Investment, the company manages specialized operating subsidiaries, including Ramp Logistics, a dedicated third-party logistics provider catering to healthcare and non-healthcare sectors, and Digi 360, a healthcare-focused digital solutions provider. In recent developments, Ibnsina Pharma has expanded its distribution portfolio through key commercial alliances, including a strategic partnership with Sandoz Egypt to distribute its over-the-counter portfolio and a distribution agreement with Boehringer Ingelheim to expand the supply of therapeutic treatments nationwide. To bolster its supply chain capacity and delivery efficiency, the company signed a long-term agreement securing an 11,000-square-meter Grade-A warehouse facility at YANMU East Logistics Park in Cairo. Additionally, Ibnsina Pharma has accelerated its digital transformation strategy by scaling up its proprietary B2B mobile ordering application and digital procurement solutions for community pharmacies, with digital channels accounting for a substantial and growing share of total monthly pharmacy transactions. On the corporate ownership front, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) completed the full divestment of its minority equity holding in the company in early 2025.
