Business
Tenth of Ramadan Pharmaceutical Industries and Diagnostic Reagents (Rameda) S.A.E. is an Egypt-based pharmaceutical company engaged in the development, manufacturing, marketing, and distribution of generic prescription medicines, consumer healthcare formulations, veterinary pharmaceuticals, and diagnostic reagents. Founded in 1986 and headquartered in Giza, Egypt, the company operates manufacturing facilities in 6th of October City. Rameda organizes its operations across a broad spectrum of therapeutic areas, offering systemic anti-infectives and antibiotics; alimentary tract and gastrointestinal medications; cardiovascular and antihypertensive drugs; central nervous system agents and analgesics; respiratory and antihistamine treatments; musculoskeletal and anti-inflammatory therapies; genitourinary and hormonal preparations; ophthalmic medications; and dietary supplements, nutraceuticals, and vitamins. The company also provides comprehensive contract and toll manufacturing services to regional and multinational pharmaceutical enterprises. While maintaining a strong market presence across domestic retail pharmacies and public healthcare institutions in Egypt, Rameda exports its products across the Middle East and Africa, including Iraq, Yemen, Libya, Sudan, and selected Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states. In recent strategic developments, Rameda has pursued aggressive portfolio diversification through the acquisition and in-licensing of high-margin molecules and branded generic products, notably across chronic disease management, cardiology, ophthalmology, and specialty consumer health. The company has expanded its manufacturing capacity and upgraded production lines to support growing export volumes, launched new chronic therapy formulations, and strengthened regional distribution partnerships to accelerate foreign-currency revenue generation.
