Al Baraka Bank Egypt S.A.E. is an Egypt-based commercial banking institution that provides a comprehensive suite of retail, corporate, commercial, treasury, and investment banking solutions in full compliance with Islamic Sharia principles. The bank operates through key business segments, including Retail Banking, Corporate and Institutional Banking, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Treasury and Capital Markets, and Investment Banking. Its core retail product offering comprises deposit and account services, including current, savings, investment, Amana, Emtiyaz, and Shabab accounts; certificates of deposit and Islamic time deposits; personal financing, residential mortgage finance, auto financing, education finance, medical finance, and specialized Hajj and Umrah pilgrimage financing programs; alongside electronic payment solutions consisting of Classic, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and World debit, credit, and prepaid cards. For corporate, SME, and commercial clients, the bank provides Islamic debt facilities and structured finance; syndicated lending; working capital and project finance; trade finance instruments including letters of credit and letters of guarantee; the Izdehar commercial financing program; treasury hedging, foreign exchange, and liquidity management; as well as investment fund administration, securities brokerage, and custodial services. It also delivers omnichannel digital financial services via internet banking, mobile banking applications, and dedicated automated electronic branches. Originally established in 1980 as the Egyptian Saudi Finance Bank and rebranded in 2009, Al Baraka Bank Egypt is headquartered in New Cairo, Egypt, and operates as a core subsidiary of Bahrain-based Al Baraka Group B.S.C. The bank serves individual, institutional, and enterprise clients across an extensive nationwide network of branches and automated teller machines throughout Egypt. In recent corporate developments, the bank initiated a mandatory tender offer to acquire a controlling stake in Al Tawfeek Leasing (A.T. Lease) to expand its non-banking financial services and Islamic leasing operations. In strategic partnerships, the institution entered into a nationwide bancassurance protocol with Salama Takaful Insurance Company Egypt to deliver integrated Sharia-compliant insurance products, and joined the regional Cool Up programme to roll out sustainable financing facilities for energy-efficient cooling systems. Operationally, the bank expanded its digital banking network by opening smart electronic branches in Alexandria and New Cairo, while participating in the Al Baraka Group cross-border digital banking initiative connecting retail and corporate accounts seamlessly across Egypt and Bahrain.
