Business
Empire Petroleum Corporation (NYSE American: EP) is a Tulsa, Oklahoma-based independent exploration and production company focused on the acquisition, optimization, and development of mature onshore oil and natural gas assets in the United States. Incorporated in 1983 and formerly known as Americomm Resources Corporation until its name change in August 2001, the company operates long-life, low-decline producing properties primarily in the Permian Basin, Bakken, and central Gulf Coast regions across New Mexico (Lea County), North Dakota (Bottineau, Renville, Burke, and McKenzie Counties), Montana (Richland County), Louisiana (St. Landry and Beauregard Parishes), and Texas (Houston, Leon, and Madison Counties); it maintains additional acreage holdings of approximately 48,000 acres in the Permian Central Basin Platform, 20,000 acres in the North Dakota and Montana Williston Basin, and 30,000 acres in East Texas multi-stacked pay zones including the Woodbine, Eagle Ford, and Buda-Rose plays. Empire generates revenue through operated and non-operated well production, emphasizing operational efficiencies in well rehabilitation, stimulation, field maintenance, and management to produce low-risk cash flows, complemented by opportunistic hedging programs to stabilize returns amid commodity price volatility. The company targets economical development of conventional hydrocarbons for stability and shareholder growth, serving domestic energy markets with a portfolio that delivered $44.04 million in revenue for 2024, reflecting a 9.71% year-over-year increase. Recent developments include the full subscription of a rights offering to bolster liquidity and fund expansions, a unanimous victory before the New Mexico Oil Conservation Commission securing approvals for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) initiatives and protection of its EMSU assets, ongoing advancements in the Starbuck Drilling Program in North Dakota with CO2 development efforts positioning for 2026 growth, and sustained operational momentum demonstrated in first, second, and third quarter 2025 results amid production enhancements and strategic field investments.
