First Farmers and Merchants Corporation (FFMH) operates as the holding company for First Farmers and Merchants Bank, a community bank serving the Middle Tennessee area and northern Alabama through 22 offices in seven counties. The bank provides a full range of banking and financial services to individual and corporate customers, including checking and savings accounts, certificates of deposit, retirement accounts; home mortgages, commercial mortgages, home equity loans, auto loans, personal loans, farm loans, credit cards, equipment and construction lending, equipment leasing, and lines of credit; trust and wealth management operations; merchant capture, positive pay fraud prevention, wire transfers, and merchant credit card services; as well as cash advances, cashier's checks, coin machine services, money orders, night drop box, notary services, and safe deposit boxes. Founded in 1982 and headquartered in Columbia, Tennessee, the company reported total assets of approximately $1.8 billion, shareholders' equity of $148 million, and administered trust assets of $6.3 billion as of March 31, 2025. Recent developments include a 36% rise in fourth-quarter 2024 net income per share to $1.20, a 21% increase in net interest income, approval to sell mortgage loans directly to Freddie Mac to expand non-interest income opportunities, extension of its stock repurchase program by 200,000 shares through December 2025, a 7.4% increase in its quarterly cash dividend to $0.29 per share payable October 21, 2025, and its 100th consecutive quarterly cash dividend paid in July 2024.
