- Forward Water Technologies Corp. develops and commercializes patented industrial forward osmosis technologies for water recovery, wastewater reduction, product concentration and emissions reduction applications. The Company’s principal offering is its iFO™ industrial forward osmosis platform, a closed-loop, continuous water-extraction process that combines proprietary forward-osmosis membranes and draw solutions with Switchable Water Salt technology to separate water and salt using low-grade heat, followed by reconcentration and recycle of the draw solution. Its systems are designed to recover clean water from challenging process streams for reuse or surface release; concentrate industrial and high-value feed streams; reduce the volume of liquid waste requiring treatment or disposal; reduce reliance on thermal evaporation; and utilize waste heat, solar thermal, geothermal, cooling-tower and heat-exchanger energy sources. Forward Water targets industrial wastewater, oil and gas, mining, agriculture, food and beverage processing, and eventual municipal water supply and water-reuse applications, serving customers seeking lower-energy treatment, water reuse, process concentration and carbon-emissions reduction solutions. The Company also develops food-safe cold-concentration technology for liquid food and beverage streams, intended to preserve product quality, flavours and aromas while reducing energy use and avoiding secondary waste streams. Forward Water Technologies was founded by GreenCentre Canada, a Canadian government-supported technology innovation centre, and is headquartered in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, with corporate activities in Toronto. Recent developments include the completion in June 2026 of a client-sponsored wastewater-treatment demonstration using its proprietary iFO process, which achieved more than 97% water recovery meeting or exceeding reuse-quality metrics; the completion of a proof-of-concept project demonstrating the concentration of a high-value feed stream beyond target levels, with the client and the Company evaluating potential next-stage commercial implementation; and a May 2026 U.S. patent allowance for a forward-osmosis technology applicable to the food and beverage sector. In September 2026, the Company completed a non-brokered secured bridge-debenture private placement raising gross proceeds of C$535,000, following a C$1.025 million convertible-debenture-unit financing completed in October 2025.
