Business
Global Environmental Energy Corp. (GEECF) develops and commercializes waste-to-energy technologies, including its core Biosphere Process System, which converts municipal solid waste, agricultural and forestry wastes, industrial and medical wastes, and traditional fossil fuels into electricity, liquid fuels, organic compost, and other by-products through processes involving metal and plastic separation, high-temperature pyrolysis, and power generation; it also pursues traditional oil and gas exploration and production, alternative energy sources, environmental infrastructure, and electrical micro-power generation via subsidiaries such as Biosphere Development Corp. (Bahamas) and Sahara Petroleum Exploration Corp. (Bahamas). The company sells and operates Biosphere Systems across Asia, Europe, the Americas, and the Philippines, targeting integrated energy solutions for waste management and renewable power. Founded in 1978 by Albert Reynolds and headquartered in Nassau, Bahamas, the company reorganized in 2004 from Life Energy & Technology Holdings Inc., relocated its domicile to the Bahamas while maintaining operations linked to New Orleans, Louisiana, and in January 2009 transferred key Asian holdings including Biosphere (Shaoxing) Technology Co. Ltd., Biosphere Asia Pacific, Biosphere (HK) Ltd., and International Environmental Energy Corp. to Wister Associated Inc. under a technology license agreement; it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May 2005, converted to Chapter 7 in June 2007.
