Business
Genesis Energy, L.P. (NYSE: GEL) is a diversified master limited partnership focused on the midstream segment of the crude oil and natural gas industry in the United States. The company provides an integrated suite of services including offshore pipeline transportation through approximately 2,400 miles of pipelines in the Central Gulf of Mexico that deliver crude oil, natural gas, and lower carbon intensive hydrocarbons from offshore reservoirs to refinery demand centers in Texas and Louisiana; marine transportation via a fleet of Jones Act-qualified inland and offshore boats and barges serving refineries and terminals along the U.S. Gulf Coast, East Coast, Canada, Great Lakes, Intracoastal Waterway, and Western River Systems; sulfur services through its TDC operations, which design, engineer, construct, and operate facilities to treat, process, and repurpose sour gas streams into bulk chemicals sold primarily to copper mining and pulp and paper industries; and onshore facilities and transportation encompassing pipelines, terminals, trucks, and rail unloading capabilities integrated with offshore assets to support refinery-centric crude oil logistics along the Gulf Coast. Founded in 1996 and headquartered at 811 Louisiana Street, Suite 1200, Houston, Texas, Genesis Energy primarily serves producers, refiners, petrochemical plants, and industrial customers in the energy sector. In March 2025, the company completed the sale of its soda ash manufacturing and related Alkali business to an affiliate of WE Soda for approximately $1.43 billion, enabling capital structure simplification, debt reduction, and a sharpened focus on core midstream energy operations. Recent strategic actions also include amendments to its credit agreement in February 2025 and an increased tender offer for its 8.0% Senior Notes due 2027 announced in December 2025 to further optimize its balance sheet amid strong offshore throughput growth targeting 120 thousand barrels per day.
