Business
A.H.T. Syngas Technology N.V. is an environmental engineering and CleanTec company that specializes in the design, engineering, and construction of decentralized biomass power plants and thermal gasification systems for climate-neutral energy and synthesis gas generation. Founded in 2010 with technological roots tracing back to industrial gasification processes developed by Klöckner Humboldt Deutz AG, the company is legally headquartered in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, and operates primary executive and engineering offices in Bonn and Overath, Germany. A.H.T. Syngas Technology operates within the renewable energy, environmental technology, and distributed power generation sectors, serving municipal utilities, industrial energy consumers, and independent power producers across Europe, Asia, and international markets. The company delivers turnkey solutions and engineering services across the entire plant lifecycle, operating through specialized segments dedicated to biomass gasification, gas conditioning, and decentralized energy contracting. The company's core product and service portfolio includes: proprietary Twin-Fire gasification reactors featuring dual-zone oxidation technology to convert biogenic residues, wood chips, agricultural waste, and carbonized feedstocks into high-purity synthesis gas; Clean Gas systems engineered for combined heat and power generation units with electrical and thermal outputs ranging from 200 kW to 15 MW and scalable up to 12 MW electrical and 50 MW thermal in modular configurations; Hot Gas systems designed to supply uncooled syngas directly for industrial process heat and high-temperature thermal applications; proprietary hydrogen extraction and separation systems that isolate green hydrogen and carbon monoxide from biogenic synthesis gas for chemical, industrial, and mobility applications; feedstock preparation and conditioning units designed to standardize solid and pasteous biogenic waste materials; advanced gas cleaning and environmental filtration components, including wet electrostatic precipitators, gas scrubbers, and hot gas filters; and comprehensive engineering, procurement, and construction services, including process design, plant engineering, turnkey commissioning, automated plant monitoring, operational management, and after-sales maintenance. The company supports its operations through specialized corporate units and subsidiaries, including aremtech GmbH for biomass processing and FHT Hydrogen Separation GmbH for gas separation applications. In recent strategic developments, A.H.T. Syngas Technology has expanded its business model from a pure equipment manufacturer and engineering contractor into an integrated decentralized energy producer and contractor, deploying self-operated biomass plants to secure long-term recurring revenue streams. To fund this operational expansion and accelerate development in its green hydrogen and gasification segments, the company completed multiple capital increases via private placements in 2025. Operationally, the company expanded its commercial footprint in Asia by rolling out gasification solutions for plastic waste recycling in Japan and advanced engineering development for a regional biomass-to-hydrogen generation facility in Northern Germany. Additionally, A.H.T. reinforced its European operations through its strategic partnership with INNOTEC ENERGY, securing multi-phase planning and approval contracts for decentralized biomass and syngas facilities in Poland.
