Business
MiniMed Group, Inc. (MMED) is a medical technology company focused on diabetes management solutions. The company develops, manufactures, and markets advanced insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems, and related diabetes care products, including the MiniMed Paradigm insulin pump system; the Guardian CGM sensors and transmitters; integrated sensor-augmented pump therapy; and software platforms for data analysis and remote monitoring. It serves patients, healthcare providers, and distributors primarily in North America, Europe, and select Asia-Pacific markets. Founded in 1983 and headquartered in Northridge, California, MiniMed pioneered external insulin infusion pumps and expanded into sensor technology through key innovations in the 1990s and 2000s. In recent years, the company has pursued strategic growth, including a 2024 partnership with a leading digital health platform to enhance app-based diabetes management integration and a 2025 Series B funding round exceeding $150 million to accelerate next-generation CGM development. Additionally, MiniMed launched its MiniMed 870G system with automated insulin delivery in late 2025, marking a significant advancement in closed-loop therapy, while expanding operations into Latin America through a new distribution alliance.
