Business
Glaukos Corporation is an ophthalmic medical technology and pharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing novel therapies for the treatment of glaucoma, corneal disorders, and retinal diseases. Founded in 1998 and headquartered in Aliso Viejo, California, Glaukos pioneered Micro-Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) technology, launching the first MIGS device commercially in 2012. Its core products include the iStent family of micro-scale surgical devices to reduce intraocular pressure in glaucoma patients; the iDose TR, a first-of-its-kind, long-duration intracameral procedural pharmaceutical implant delivering continuous glaucoma drug therapy inside the eye; a proprietary, FDA-approved corneal cross-linking therapy for keratoconus; transdermal pharmaceuticals for treating glaucoma, dry eye, presbyopia, and ocular surface diseases; and bio-erodible sustained-release drug delivery implants for retinal diseases. The company operates globally with locations in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Australia, and Brazil. Recent major developments include the commercial launch of the iDose TR implant in 2024, which delivers sustained glaucoma drug therapy, marking a significant advancement in dropless therapies. In 2025, Glaukos reported record net sales with notable growth in glaucoma product sales, raised full-year 2025 revenue guidance to $490 million to $495 million, and issued preliminary 2026 sales guidance of $600 million to $620 million. The company also received FDA approval for a new eye therapy named Epioxa, expected to be commercially available in early 2026. Glaukos continues to invest in expanding its pipeline of novel dropless platform technologies aimed at improving patient outcomes and advancing the standard of care across its ophthalmic focus areas. It maintains a strong financial position with no debt and substantial cash reserves as of the third quarter of 2025. Glaukos' shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol GKOS.
