(BOS.WA) operates as a specialized commercial bank in Poland, focusing on financing environmental protection projects and sustainable development initiatives; it provides a comprehensive range of retail and corporate banking products and services, including deposit accounts, current accounts, savings accounts, time deposits, debit and credit cards, consumer loans, mortgage loans, green loans for ecological investments such as renewable energy sources, energy retrofitting, wastewater treatment, and waste management, commercial loan facilities, investment banking services, trade finance, foreign exchange, factoring, leasing through its subsidiary BOŚ Leasing S.A., brokerage services via Dom Maklerski BOŚ S.A., RES consultancy, and debt financing arrangements. The bank targets individual clients, SMEs, mid-caps, local government units, municipal companies, and institutional customers, with over 53% of its loan portfolio dedicated to green financing; it has extended approximately PLN 23.2 billion in credit facilities for environmental projects since inception and ranks among Poland's 20 largest banks by assets, which stood at PLN 23.5 billion for the Group as of June 30, 2025. Founded in 1991 on the initiative of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW), which remains its major shareholder holding over 56% of votes, the bank is headquartered in Warsaw and listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange's main market since 1997; its subsidiaries include Dom Maklerski BOŚ S.A. and BOŚ Leasing S.A., with operations conducted primarily in Poland through collaboration with NFOŚiGW, Provincial Funds for Environmental Protection (WFOŚiGW), Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK), and international partners. In recent developments, the bank published its Framework Development Strategy for 2025-2027 on December 17, 2024, emphasizing expansion in ecological financing and sustainable investments amid a shift toward a green bank model. It signed a EUR 40 million InvestEU guarantee with the European Investment Fund in November 2024, enabling up to EUR 60 million in new debt financing for SMEs and mid-caps focused entirely on sustainable development, including renewable energy projects like photovoltaic farms. Further, on March 28, 2025, BOŚ entered an operational agreement with BGK for PLN 70 million in preferential loans to support Polish businesses in Ukraine's economic reconstruction, and on June 19, 2025, secured PLN 517.6 million from the European Investment Bank under the European Funds for Mazovia and Silesia 2021-2027 programmes for technology and green loans. The bank continues active participation in initiatives like the Mój Elektryk (My EV) programme for zero-emission vehicle subsidies, BGK bonuses for energy retrofitting, and the ELENA grant from EIB for technical documentation financing, while reporting a 45.3% year-on-year increase in loan sales to PLN 2.8 billion in the first half of 2025, with green loans rising 55.8% to PLN 1.5 billion, predominantly for institutional clients in construction, energy, and municipal sectors; net profit for the BOŚ Group reached PLN 79.7 million in H1 2025, up 58.7% year-on-year, supported by a 3.4% assets growth and stable capital ratios above regulatory requirements.
